Class 51 (1) In an annular air-jacketed combustion chamber of a gas turbine or jet propulsion engine, the ratio of the total cross-sectional areas of the air inlet openings in the outer and inner walls of the annular flame tube is between 1.125 and 1.375 to 1, preferably 1.25 to 1. The cross-sectional areas of the outer and inner air passages may be in the same ratio. The object of the invention is to achieve a substantially uniform distribution of temperature in the hot gases at the discharge end of the combustion chamber.
