Class 51(i) [Also in Group XXVI] An air jacketed, annular combustion chamber 13 of octagonal or circular cross-section has a diffuser ring 5 which is divided by plates 6, 7 to form main and subsidiary air inlet passages 9, 10 respectively and a fuel and air inlet passage 8. The inner walls 25, 23 of the combustion chamber are made of heat resisting alloy steel and are provided with air openings or formed by guide or vane elements. The air openings are more closely spaced towards the inner diameter of the combustion chamber which has an intermediate wall 26 defining an annular discharge passage 22.
