572,168. Anodes for electrodeposition. ALKAN, M. L. June 30, 1943, No. 10627. [Class 41] [Also in Group XXII] Soluble electrolytic anodes of elliptic section, have their periphery formed with substantial teeth or projections thereon, or recesses therein. In Figs. 1 and 3, a pure cast zinc block has, say, 12 teeth f of half-an-inch depth separated by recesses g, and is cast about a mild-steel, tinplated, suspension-strip b having holding teeth h and splayed end i for greater security, the part j being given a varnish or lacquer coating. The anode may, alternatively, be threaded on a strip and located by a pin in a hole in the support rod, both ends of the latter being adapted to receive a suspension hook, Fig. 6 (not shown). The anode may also be centrally apertured and formed in sections assembled, to the number required, by threading over a rod carrying a supporting wing nut, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown). The Specification refers also to nickel, copper, brass, cadmium, tin, lead and alloys containing these metals as main constituents. Specification 298,225, [Class 41], and 459,126 are referred to. The Provisional Specification refers also to circular and rectangular basic sections and to barrel-plating.
