Abstract

Electroplates of rhodium are improved and rendered less brittle by including in the plating bath a small amount of an indium salt preferably having the same acid radical as the rhodium salt, e.g. both are sulphates or perchlorates. The metals are deposited as an alloy containing 0.1-1.0% of In. Base metals specified are brass, bronze, silver, copper, nickel, and nickel alloys which may be pre-coated with silver.
