Abstract
571,385. Automatically - adjustable couplings. ARIEL MOTORS, Ltd., and PAGE, V. Dec. 30, 1943, No. 21855. [Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXV] In a combined generator and magneto, a centrifugal coupling is interposed between the magneto rotor and the driving shaft coaxial therewith, and the latter shaft also drives the generator rotor. In the form shown, the gear h driving the generator a is rigidly coupled to the driving shaft e and the coupling between that shaft and the magneto shaft c consists of weights k pivoted to the gear h and connected through springs n ana links m with arms j on a sleeve f secured to shaft c. The ends of arms j project into slots o in the gear h to limit the free movement between the two shafts.
