Abstract

1,039,025. Transmitting mechanical power; driving generators. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. May 29, 1963 [May 29, 1962], No. 21459/63. Headings H2A and H2H. Two diesel engines 1, 2 jointly drive a generator 3 through an epicyclic gear 4, the armature 10 of the generator 3 having a hollow shaft through which passes a shaft 6 coupling the diesel 2 with the primary shaft 5 of the gear 4 which is coupled directly to the diesel 1. The shaft 5 carries a part 7 which drives a sun wheel 8 connected to the armature 10 through a coupling 9 preferably of articulated construction. The shaft 6 may be in the form of a torsion-bar spring and engines 1, 2 may have a common speed governor and fuel admission adjusting device.
