C, engine driving gear F E SHEPPARD 19 April 1971 [17 Feb 1970] 7509/70 Heading F1B [Also in Division B7] In an outboard motor propulsion unit comprising a power unit 10, propeller 12 and an upstanding transmission shaft 17, the power unit is a fourstroke internal combustion engine having a cam shaft 15. The engine is mounted with the cam shaft in an upstanding attitude and coupled directly to the transmission shaft.
