[Also in Division F1] A 4-stroke I.C. engine, mounted at one end of a road vehicle and driving wheels at the other end, has a cam-shaft 10, Fig. 2, driving the propeller shaft 18 at half crank-shaft speed, the engine being mounted with the cam-shaft at a lower level X, Fig. 1, than the crank-shaft level Y so that the propeller shaft is nearer the ground than the crank-shaft.
