Abstract

1,262,695. Marine propulsion plant. O. F. MUNGUET. 14 Nov., 1969 [15 April, 1969], No. 55961/69. Headings B7A and B7V. [Also in Division F1] A ship 33 has an engine 35 (see Division F1) which during normal operation propels the ship via propeller shaft 37, but which can be supercharged to provide additional power to drive additional propellers 41, 42. The latter may be driven directly by the engine or, as shown, they may be driven by electric motors 39, 40 receiving electricity from a generator 38 driven by the engine. The ship is capable of running submerged with its engine 35 working by means of a "Schnorkel" device in the form of a hollow mast 36. [GB1262695A]
