Abstract
The ship propulsion equipment uses wind energy, with a windmill rotor onto whose shaft a rotary hydraulic pump is keyed, while a rotary hydraulic motor is keyed to the propeller shaft. There are two motors which can be connected to the pump (303) of the rotor (301), each keyed to the shaft of a propeller having different characteristics. There can be an auxiliary heat engine (385) coupled to a pump (384), the latter connected by a three-way valve to the hydraulic circuit between the windmill rotor pump and the hydraulic motors. The engine-driven pump can have a governor controlling engine speed to vary the pump output.
