Abstract

570,121. Trailer and other vehicles. BROCKHOUSE, M. I. Aug. 11, 1943, No. 12967. [Class 108 (i)] A trailer or like loadcarrying vehicle comprises a frame structure having its side elements in the form of longitudinally - extending open lattice girders with the top and bottom booms of the girders forming or directly supporting loading platforms. The vehicle is particularly intended for a two-storied carrier of motor vehicles. A ramp 30, Fig. 1, is provided for rear loading of the lower platform, connected by vertical and diagonal members, as shown, to the upper platform for which, as shown in Fig. 2, a hinged ramp 38 is provided ; adjustable wheel-carrying legs 33, near to the articulation point in the case of articulated vehicles, serve to maintain the trailer in either of the positions shown. Wheel tracks 17, 18 for the vehicles carried are provided as shown in Fig. 6 ; also ways 20 for operatives during loading. Locking plates adjustably carried on hinges parallel to the tracks are provided to retain the carried vehicles.
