698,342. Road-vehicles; body details. ENSOR, A. J. Nov. 21, 1951 [Nov. 23, 1950], No. 28659/50. Class 108 (i). A caravan comprises a floor component 1 having a central gangway 1a between raised platforms 1b which support box-section spacers 3 and a roof component 2, the various components being rigidly secured together by the straps 6a, 8 having threaded ends extending through transverse bearers 7a, 7c of the floor component. For storage or transport the roof component is laid on top of the floor component and the spacers 3 accommodated in the central cavity formed thereby. The roof component may also have depressions formed therein to house the wheels of another collapsed caravan superimposed thereon. The roof component 2 may also carry hinged flaps 9 which can be maintained in a horizontal position by struts 9a.
