Abstract

569,436. Cathode-ray tubes. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Aug. 20, 1943, No. 13613. Convention date, Aug. 21, 1942. [Class 39 (i)] In a television transmitting tube including within an evacuated envelope, an electron gun 2, a mosaic target electrode 12, and means for scanning the mosaic with the beam from the gun, a signal plate 4 is co-extensive with the mosaic and a source 13 of photo-electrons is provided. co-planar with the mosaic but so placed that the capacity between the source 13 and plate 4 is negligible. The purpose of this additional. source of electrons is to introduce compensation in the picture to remove dark spot formation. Further photo electric surfaces 15 may be provided to assist this control and a lamp 14 with a filter 16 of varying opacity may be provided'to illuminate the source 13 from behind.
