[Class 38 (ii)] A regulating choke, particularly for welding circuits, comprises a stationary laminated yoke 1 with polepieces 2 carrying the windings 3 and a movable laminated bridging member 4 pivotally mounted between the polepieces, the faces of the latter and of the bridging member being so curved (e.g. spirally) that the air gap 7 varies in direct proportion to the angular adjustment of the bridging member.
