Abstract

564,407. Centrifugal fans. JENNINGS, H. W. K. (Sturtevant Co., B. F.). June 3, 1943, No. 8923. [Class 110 (i)] In a centrifugal fan in which the outlet is connected by a duct D to the load F, straight vanes A, B, C are arranged in D and have curved extensions a, b, c in the scroll housing of the fan with their ends converging, and so spaced that equal volumes of fluid are guided between them. The vanes curve away from the rotor in the cut-off area of the fan, the degree of curvature being greater in the inner than in the outer vanes. A method of determining the shapes and positions of the vanes and the scroll housing is described.
