563,165. Fluid-pressure servomotor control systems. CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO., Ltd., and EDGE, S. H. Oct. 20, 1941, No. 13477. [Class 135] A hydraulic control mechanism with followup control has a manual or pedal-operated controlling valve comprising a lift valve member carried by a piston subject to the pressure in the power cylinder to impart " feel " to the controlling member. In the form shown in the Figure, a power piston 23 connected by a lever 19 and a rod 28 to the element to be actuated is controlled by a valve 8 adapted to co-operate with a seat 9. This valve is carried by a piston subject to the pressure in the power cylinder and secured to a spindle 7 pivoted to a floating lever 13, connected by a link 15 to the hand-operated control lever 16 and by a link 18 to the lever 19 to give a follow-up action. When the device is inoperative the delivery of the pump 2 returns freely through a conduit 11 to a sump. As the control lever is moved, the exhaust is gradually throttled to cause pressure in the conduit 25 and cylinder 24 to rise to the value necessary to move the piston.
