[Also in Group XXIX] A piston-and-cylinder device 20 for raising and lowering the blade 18 of a bulldozer is supplied with fluidpressure from a pump 12, the output of which is controlled by means supplied with fluid-pressure from a central circuit (Group XXIX) having a manually-operable valve 34. When the blade encounters a heavy resistance or the piston of the device 20 reaches the end of its stroke, the pressure in the circuit from the pump, which may be of the type described in Specification 906,778, acts on the means controlling the displacement of the pump to reduce its output. The valve 34 is movable to other positions to effect holding of the blade in a selected position or permitting free floating of the blade.
