Abstract

1,150,455. Tractor power lift mechanisms. IFA GETRIEBEWERKE BRANDENBURG VEB. 2 July, 1966, No. 29788/66. Heading A1P. The hydraulic pressure in the double acting jack 1 of a tractor power lift mechanism is kept substantially constant to operate a depth control arrangement, by means of a throttle point 3 hydraulically joining a working chamber of the jack with a small pressure accumulator 4. A pressure balancing piston 2 is placed across the throttle and has a depending lever 7 which operates the control valves 8 and 5. A slow increase in pressure in the jack cylinder is transmitted through the throttle to the accumulator and has no effect on the system. A sudden increase in pressure, however, is deflected by the throttle to operate the piston 2 which moves the control valves to release the pressure in the jack until the follow-up linkage 12, 20 and 9 returns the lever 7 to the neutral position. During a sudden decrease in pressure in the jack the accumulator has sufficient pressure to operate the piston 2 and thus control the jack pressure. A spring arrangement 10 and a piston 11 damp the movement of the follow-up linkage.
