[Class 97 (i)] In sighting apparatus comprising a concaveconvex transmissive reflector in the sighting tube to produce an image at infinity of an illuminated graticule by reflection in the concave surface, the convex surface of the reflector is provided with a reflection-reducing coating, so as to reduce the intensity of the image internally reflected thereby. The coating may be of silica or other known material, may have a thickness of one quarter wave-length of light, or of a small odd multiple of a quarter wave-length, and may be deposited by evaporation. The apparatus may be otherwise constructed as described in Specifications 562,233 and 562,241. Specifications 538,272, '538,273, 538,274 and 538,301 also are referred to.
