Abstract
773,881. Reflex reflectors. WARD, W. G. Dec. 14, 1954 [Dec. 15, 1953; July 14, 1954], No. 34873/53, No. 20613/54. Class 97(1) A reflector comprises a domed part, an annular reflecting surface coaxial therewith, and a second reflecting surface, light incident on the domed surface generally at right angles to the axis being reflected by the annular reflecting surface on to the second reflecting surface on which it is incident normally so as to be reflected back along its original path. As shown the domed surface a which may be spherical or ellipsoidal is coaxial with an annular reflecting surface b, which may be composed of two conical surfaces, which reflects the light to the incident normally on the second surface, which may be curved or plane. The surface c at the base of the reflector may be curved and may be clear or semi-reflecting to allow light from a source adjacent the base to pass 'therethrough. In a modification the surface e is perpendicular to the axis and carried reflecting tetrahedra.
