560,491. Coating surfaces. LUMB, C. F., and PLASTIC SPRAY Ltd. June 17, 1942, No. 8299. [Class 95] A surface coating or layer of a thermosetting plastic is obtained by spraying the substance in a liquid form or in the form of'an aqueous or other solution or dispersion on to the base surface; and by causing the sprayed surface coating to set by subjecting the same to " flaming" by playing the name of a flamespraying pistol over the sprayed surface coating. In order to accelerate the setting action; the thermo-setting material may be heated before spraying; or the base surface may be preheated. Specified thermo-setting plastics which may be used are phenol-formaldehyde resins and urea-formaldehyde resins; Specification 432,831, [Group II], is referred to.
