Abstract
560,420. Lamp - holders. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 10, 1942, No. 17571. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1941. Addition to 526,713. [Class 38 (i)] A holder 14 for a tubular discharge lamp having a recess 15 con stituting a pair of arcuate slots separated by a central guide post 18 ir which is a groove 19 to enable the contact pins 21 of the lamp to be inserted through a slot 16 and turned into engagement with con tacts 20 lying in the arcuate slots, is pro vided with means for locking the lamp in the holder consisting of a strip 23 of insulating material inserted in the slot 16 and groove 19 so that the lamp pins 21 cannot be turned into line with the slot 16 and groove 19. The strip 23 is pivoted on a curved clip 24 the ends of which spring into recesses 26 in the edge of the holder 14, In similar holders, e.g., miniature holders, in which the guide post 18 is omitted, the strip 23 extends between the lamp pins 21 and is still effective to close the slot 16 and to prevent undesired rotation of the lamp to a position in which the pins would pass through the slot.
