560,241. Ventilators. GREENWOOD'S & AIRVAC VENTILATING CO., Ltd., HUGHES, B. D., and FORD, E. L. Oct. 5, 1942, Nos. 13945/42, 615/43 and 12704/43. [Class 137]' - An induction ventilator comprises a short stack pipe 1 to the top of which is secured a conical member 5, and over which is disposed a cover 6, the space between the cover and the member 5 and the upper part of the stack pipe containing vertical radially arranged deflector plates 8 which extend down into the stack pipe and support the dome or cover 6. In Fig. 4 the conical member 5 is omitted and replaced by apertured conical members 12 which leave a space between their upper edges and the stack pipe. In Fig. 6, an annular plate 16 secured to the top of the stack pipe 1 supports two cone-shaped elements 17, 18 inclined towards each other so that they meet at their upper edges, and cone-shaped elements 19, 20 are secured to a coned part 7 of the cover 6 so that they meet at their lower edges. An internal cone 21 is provided in the inner face of the cover with its apex directed downwardly. The deflector plates 8 are so shaped as to fit between the various cone-shaped elements.
