560,179. Vibration damping shaft couplings. FALCK, A. R. Aug. 21, 1942, No. 11823. [Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Groups XIX and XXXII] A vibration damping coupling and torque indicator, comprises a casing 3 with oppositely handed screw threads 6, 7, engaged by nuts 8, 9, splined to a shaft 2. The casing 3 is connected to a shaft 1. Volute springs 16 .. 19 are arranged on both sides of the nuts 8, 9, and axial movement between the two shafts is prevented by a thrust bearing 21. The relative angular movement between the shafts when transmitting a torque is indicated by the movement of a member 28 having teeth 27 meshing annular ribs 26 on a nut 23 threaded to the casing 3 and splined to the shaft 2.
