Abstract

557,935. Tracing appliances ; inks. BERRY & CO., Ltd., R. and McVAY, E. June 4, 1942, No. 7593. [Classes 11 and 146 (iii)] [Also in Group XVI] Sheets are printed on both sides with the same matter in register, by using a carbon loaded printing ink, and first taking an impression from a flat forme on to an offset cylinder and then printing the sheet on one side from the forme simultaneously with printing it on the other side from the offset cylinder. Impressions may be taken from one side of such a sheet by pressure on the other side. The offset cylinder may be prepared by covering a cylinder with thick press spahn 10, linen 11, hard paper 12, a sheet of glazed manilla 13 on which are pasted cut out portions 13a from a second sheet such as 13 on which an impression of the design was made in ordinary ink, a sheet of paper 14 on which tissue under layers for text matter may be pasted, sheets 15, 16 of hard paper and a final sheet 17 of parchment. A suitable ink consists of 11b of carbon copy colour, 1 oz paraffin oil, 1 oz castor oil, ¢ oz of spirits of wine and “ oz of oil of lavender or palm oil.
