[Class 99 (i)] [Also in Groups XIII and XXVI] In a joint for pipes or other fluid containers such as a heat exchanger of the kind in which a ring or sleeve f is a sliding fit within tubular members a, c and carries a pair of rubber packing rings h with a floating abutment ring i between them, the packing rings being compressed in recesses g when the members are drawn together, the abutment ring is of circular section and of slightly larger cross section than the packing rings. The ring i may have an internal groove k and holes m for drainage of any leakage.
