557,686. Machine guns; cartridge-belt boxes. MARTIN, J. and MARTIN-BAKER AIRCRAFT CO., Ltd. Nov. 9, 1938, No. 4382/40. Divided out of 557,685. [Classes 9 (i) and 92 (ii)] A cartridge-belt box in which the belt is piled so that axes of the cartridges are transverse to the gun's axis is provided at the top with an attachment 19 for guiding the cartridges to the correct feed position with their axes parallel to the breech axis. The invention is shown applied to a belt box as described in Specification 557,685 the guide 19 being fitted at one end over the box exit 17b, the other end having lugs 20 to engage the gun. At a bend in the guide a roller 21 is provided for the bullet ends of the cartridges.
