Abstract

555,266. Machine gun cartridge belts. VICKERSARMSTRONGS, Ltd., and HIGSON, P. R. March 3, 1941, No. 2865. [Class 92 (ii)] A disintegrating belt link having the usual interengaging open clips 2, 3 is provided with a pivoted attachment 5 the parts 6 of which prevent downward withdrawal of a cartridge 1 until the preceding cartridge has been withdrawn. To start the feed, the first cartridge is withdrawn by hand in an endwise direction. The projections 9, 10 are formed on the clips to assist in the stripping of the cartridges as the belt passes through the feed box described in Specification 555,267.
