Abstract

574,962. Machine guns. BOULTON PAUL AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and NORTH, J. D. March 13, 1937, No. 7411. [Class 92 (ii)] The external conduit 7 for the ejected belt links of a machine gun 1 is fitted with a resiliently mounted friction member 9, in the form of a leaf spring or resilient roller, to retain the links in nested alignment in the conduit. As shown, the conduit extends upwardly from the gun and guides the links to a remote point for collection or dispersal. A second friction member 10 is provided at the remote end of the conduit so that the conduit is maintained full of links.
