Abstract
714,609. Looms with stationary weft supply. CLAEYS, M. Dec. 10, 1951 [June 16, 1948], No. 28931/51. Class 142(2) A weft inserter, having weft grippers at each end, is carried through the shed by a carriage 1 having pairs of wheels 4 engaging wheels 7 on the inserter. The inserter is held against the wheels 4 by further wheels 12 engaging a bar 13. The carriage is drawn across the loom by a cable. An extension 14. on the side of the inserter, carries at each end spring operated grippers 17, shears 27, and a bill 20 that carries the cut weft end back into the shed at the next pick. The shears may be closed by a cam and a sheathed cable, and may be opened by a spring. A member 22 delivers the weft to the grippers.
