Abstract

555,958. Automatic control systems for variable conditions. ALLMANA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. May 27, 1942, No. 7169. Convention date, June 9, 1941. [Class 38 (iv)] Current; variables in general.-To obtain an anti-hunting action in an automatic regulator employing D.C. saturated inductances as amplifiers, with or without self-fed or reaction windings thereon, a voltage is induced in a winding on one or more inductances which temporarily restores equilibrium between the regulated quantity and its normal value. A saturating winding 22 may for example be fed by a current which is the difference between a constant direct current due to a saturated inductance 10 and a regulated current-representing the regulated quantity fed in at terminals 14. When the cascaded amplifiers 20, 30, 40 operate due to a change in the regulated quantity a voltage is induced in a winding, for example 45 on the amplifier 40, which is applied, for example, to a saturating winding 15 to cause a transient change in the aforesaid constant direct current and overcome the effect of the time constant of the amplifiers. The voltage may be otherwise applied for this purpose. Specifications 479,596, 479,834 and 479,990 are referred to.
