Abstract
554,966. Cap spinning frames. AMERICAN VISCOSE CORPORATION. Aug. 10, 1942, No. 11168. Convention date, Sept, 5,1941. [Class 120 (ii)] The guide leading the yarn to the cap of a spinning and twisting frame is moved during the spinning operation to increase the tension on the yarns as the size of the package increases. As shown the guide 2 is raised as the size of the yarn package increases and is carried by a member 4 slidable in guide 5 and carrying a bowl 7 contacting with a cam 8 loose on a driven shaft 9 carrying a fixed hub 10; the cam is connected to the shaft by a brake band 11 passing around the hub 10 with one end connected to a pin 12 on the cam and the other to an adjustable spring-controlled bolt 13 passing through a lug on the cam. A ratchet wheel 17 fixed to the cam engages a toothed bar 18 pivoted to the arm 19 of a spring-controlled pedal 20 so that on the completion of the spinning operation the guide may be lowered to its initial position by pressure upon the pedal, plug 23 .thereon engaging a pin 22 on the cam to determine the position of the latter.
