Abstract

554,168. Window blinds. LISLE, U. L. O. Dec. 23, 1941, No. 16564. [Class 20 (iii)] A blind for the roof-lights of corrugated iron huts is fitted into a framework which is attached to a structural member 19 by brackets 20. The box-like frame consists of side members 1 one edge of each of which is curved to fit the curvature of the hut, and members 3, 4 and facing members 5, 6, 7, 8. The blind 9 extends through a slot in member 4 and is provided with weighted laths 11 at its free end and a lath 12 to prevent its being drawn through the slot by a chain or cable 14 which is carried over a pulley 13, out through a hole 15, and over frame members 16 to terminate in a weight 17. The blind, when pulled into position, passes into the frame and obscures the window 18 being held in place by the combined weight of the chain and weight 17. In a modification, a roller blind is employed, the roller being enclosed in the casing.
