[Class 137] [Also in Group XIII ] Sound absorbing means for sound-insulating structures in buildings or passages or in outlets from ventilators comprise brushes of fibrous material packed behind a foraminous wall. For absorbing sound waves emerging from an open ventilating duct sound absorbing panels of arcuate form, and in staggered formation, are arranged between top and bottom plates of a fitting applied to the outlet-pipe into which a spigot 1 fits. Each panel includes a foraminated front wall 6 and solid back wall 7 between which are removable cotton brushes 9 secured to vertical stems fixed at intervals to the top and bottom plates. Each panel is drained by holes 10.
