Abstract

1349717 Ventilation; air curtains SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN AB 29 June 1971 [1 July 1970] 30477/71 Heading F4V A device for maintaining a dust- and bacteriafree zone in a room, comprises means to provide a flow of ventilating air to the zone, and means to provide air curtains surrounding the zone consisting of distributing channels separate from those for the ventilating air. Ventilating air is supplied to a chamber 5 through an inlet air channel 6, a perforated distributing screen 7 being situated in the vicinity of channel 6. The chamber 5 contains two perforated plates 8, 9, plate 8 having a thickness in the range 3-10 mm. preferably 5-8 mm., while plate 9 is thin relative to plate 8 and has a larger number of perforations. Air curtains surrounding the zone are produced by means comprising distributing channel 3 extending around chamber 5 and connected to a separate air inlet 4, nozzles 1 in the surface of channel 3 producing the air curtains. The channel 3 has strips 2a and 2b extending across and into part of channel respectively, to form a slot 2c which directs the air substantially vertically to the nozzles 1.
