Abstract
549,122. Transformers. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. July 9, 1941, No. 8662. Convention date, July 11, 1940. [Class 38 (ii)] In a high tension current transformer in which solid porous insulation such as crepe paper 17 surrounding the primary winding is extended along the primary leads 12, spaced concentric insulating cylinders 22 are provided around the insulation of the leads and are maintained in position by paper wrappings 23, 24 about their lower ends. Spacers 25 lashed in position by cords 26 are provided between the cylinders. A metal screen 18 surrounding the insulation on the windings is extended upwardly over the lower parts of the cylinders and its upper edge is protected against flash-over by folded fibrous insulating material 31. The transformer shown is otherwise similar in construction to that described in Specification 539,730 which is referred to.
