[Class 37] A flexible waterproof resistor comprises a fibrous rope body of jute, hemp, or the like, having interstices carrying granular resistance material within them and surrounded by a flexible waterproof covering of rubber &c. A body 11 of fibrous rope-like material such as jute or hemp is impregnated with colloidal graphite derived from an aqueous graphite dispersion and is then dried, leaving the graphite deposited throughout the fibres in minute particles. A rubber or other watertight insulating covering 12 is then applied by extrusion, moulding, or otherwise. Terminals 13 are provided.
