[Class 36] An electric conductor insulated with a layer of polyethylene has a coating of wax-resisting material applied to the polyethylene, then a protective braid is applied which is impregnated with molten wax. The wax-resisting material may be cellulose acetate or regenerated cellulose applied in the form of a tape. Polyvinyl chloride or other synthetic materials having similar wax-resisting properties may also be used, either as a tape, a coating, or a dispersion.
