Abstract

544,042. Building stabs ; walls. CARPENTER, G. July 23, 1940, No. 12040. [Classes 20 (iv) and 87 (i)] A building slab comprises a backing of cement, plaster, or fibrous material bound together by mortar, bitumen, &c., and a facing of reticulate metal having spaced grooves or ribs. Fig. 3 shows a wall made of two such slabs, one of which 8 is faced with cement 9 covered with paper 10, while the other 11 is faced with bitumen 12 ; the slabs are connected by wires 6 threaded through the ribs 5 of the metal facings and the space filled with concrete 7. The facing may be formed with grooves which may be filled with concrete.
