717,999. Lathing. VALASEK, L. Aug. 18, 1952 [Aug. 23, 1951], No. 20735/52. Class 20 (4) Permanent shuttering for walls, pillars and the like consists of wire netting 3 on which are cast rods 1 of cement mortar, gypsum plaster, or other materials which set hard on drying, the rods extending substantially the whole distance from one margin of the wire netting to the opposite margin thereof. As shown the rods 1 are of irregular pentagonal cross-section the angles thereof which lie against the wire netting being not more than 90 degrees and the netting dividing the cross section into a triangular or wedge-shaped portion and a trapezoidal portion. The angles may be rounded-off instead of being sharp as shown. The inner wedge-shaped portions of the rods are provided with recesses 2 to key to the concrete. The shuttering may also be used as a support for plasterwork, such as ceilings or thin partition walls, being coated with plaster on one or both sides.
