Abstract
543,833. Electro-deposition of nickel. HANSON-VAN WINKLEMUNNING CO. Sept. 16, 1941, No. 11853. Convention date, Oct. 12, 1940. [Class 41 ] Nickel is deposited from an aqueous solution of nickel chloride and acetate with sufficient hydrochloric acid present to give a pH value of from 2.0 to 5.5. The nickel concentration may vary from 4.5 to 17 ounces per gallon of electrolyte, comprising from 4 to 12 ounces from the chloride and 0.5 to 5 from the acetate. Current density may vary from 15 to 400 amperes per square foot of cathode surface, and the preferred temperature range is 130-150 F.
