Abstract
543,665. Magnesia; calcium carbonate. OCEAN SALTS (PRODUCTS), Ltd., and ADAMS, B. A. Dec. 20, 1940, No. 17959. [Class 1 (iii)] In the preliminary treatment of seawater to remove bicarbonates and carbon dioxide prior to precipitation of the magnesium contents, hydroxide or oxide of calcium, magnesium or sodium is added, and the precipitation of calcium carbonate is facilitated by agitating the liquid in presence of suspended particles of calcium carbonate.
