Abstract

543,640. Thermionic valves. MULLARD RADIO VALVE CO., Ltd. (Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken). May 20, 1940, No. 8943. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Nov. 23, 1940.] [Class 39 (i)] A beam valve is provided with two or more control grids so arranged as to produce different characteristics at different points and the beam is deflected so as to strike the grids at the point corresponding to a desired characteristic. Fig. 2 shows two grids 3, 4 at an angle to each other and a beam which is divided to its desired portion of the grids by deflecting electrodes 2. The wires of the grids 3 and 4 are parallel to the direction of deflection of the beam.
