541,090. Drying cellulosic tubes. HEAVEN, H. S. May 9, 1940, No. 8399. [Class 34 (i)] A wet flexible tube produced from a cellulosic solution is first passed in a flattened state over steam-heated rollers 12 in a drying chamber 18, and then in an inflated or distended state through a further drying chamber 23. Warm air is forced through the chambers by fans 20, 28. In a modification, the rollers 12 are unheated and the tube is heated by radiation from steam pipes in the drying chamber 18.
