540,757. Respirators. FOUNTAIN, Ltd., G. R., SNELL, A. E. C., and HOULGATE, H. J. Jan. 15, 1940, No. 9237/41. Divided out of 539,933. [Class 81 (ii)] A respirator is fitted with an acoustic diaphragm 65 which is combined with the outlet valve 17, 66 of the respirator and is associated with an acoustic duct 30 leading from a position directly in front of the user's mouth. The air and sound from the user's mouth have access to the diaphragm and valve through passages 40, 44 in throat members 33, 43 which fit against a casting 12 and are secured by a screw 20 which holds in place a cover plate 68. Specifications 445,988 and 464,458 are referred to.
