Abstract
538,033. Reinforced concrete floors. KONYI, K. HAJNAL-, and MYERS, S. M. Feb. 15, 1940, No. 2901. [Class 20 (iv)] A method of forming a reinforced concrete floor consists first in casting a concrete composite beam comprising a reinforced concrete core cast within a line of pre-cast concrete units, second, erecting a plurality of such beams to span the required floor area, third, bridging adjacent beams with precast concrete units leaving the central area of the top surface of said beams free with members of the reinforcement thereof extending therefrom upwardly, and, fourth, applying concrete over the whole floor area. As shown a number of pre-cast units 6 of U-section are assembled in a line and filled with concrete after reinforcing members 5, 5a, have been deposed therein. A number of these beams may be supported by similarly constructed primary beams of greater depth. Hollow bridging members 2 provided with end flanges are then positioned on the edges of the beams. In a modification flat slabs are substituted for the members 6, these being arranged vertically, spaced apart, with a filling at the base of a small quantity of light concrete. The blocks 2 may be substituted by flat slabs.
