536,880. Printing processes. SMITH. C. H., and CRAFTON PRESS, Ltd. Oct. 9, 1940, No. 30593/39. Drawings to Specification. [Class 100 (ii)] A deposit of gum is applied to a sheet of paper in localised areas by a relief forme in a letterpress machine with resilient rubber inking- rollers. The press is used with a supply of gum instead of ink and may consist of an horizontal or a vertical cylinder machine or a platen press. The press has preferably the usual differential micrometer adjustment of the ink feed. The sheets are led on an endless-conveyer belt through the usual drying chamber.
