Abstract

535,753. Hearing aids for the deaf. ELECTRICAL RESEARCH PRODUCTS, Inc. May 21, 1940, No. 9004. Convention date, June 20, 1939. [Class 40 (iv)] In a portable set for deaf persons, the pick-up microphone 12, the input and output units 14, 15 of a microphone amplifier, the receiver 16 and a single battery are connected in a series circuit, a large condenser being connected between the common point of the amplifier units and a point between the instruments 12, 16, or two large condensers 21, 22 being connected as shown to the common point and to opposite sides of a choke 23 in the series circuit to prevent retroaction. Volume is controlled by a rheostat 11. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), flow of direct, current through the input unit of the amplifier is prevented by means of a series condenser and a byepassing choke.
