Abstract

887,464. Loud-speaker systems. BOSE, A. G. Dec. 18, 1957 [Dec. 18, 1956], No. 39388/57. Addition to 873,513. Class 40 (4). The loud-speaker system claimed in the parent Specification has a compensation network with the characteristic of Fig. 5 and the circuit of Fig. 6 so as to provide a boost at low and high frequencies with peaks at 14 and 16,000 cycles per second. The compensation network is placed between a pre-amplifier and a power amplifier and uses RC coupling networks having the same time constants to give a sharp attenuation at frequencies below 14 cycles. The highfrequency boost is produced in stage V1 by tuned circuit 56, 57, damped by resistor 58 and the resistance 51 of inductor 56. The lowfrequency boost is produced by capacitors 47 and 53 in stages V1 and V2 respectively. The anode circuits of both stages are preferably given the same resistance.
