Abstract

1499976 Hearing aid circuits J R J RUTHERFORD 16 Jan 1975 [17 Oct 1973] 48301/73 Heading H4J A hearing aid comprises a microphone 5 (Fig. 1) connected to a plurality of parallel connected band-pass filters 4 having respective variable attenuators 3 which can be preset and locked so that the resultant signal response is adjusted to the needs of the user. The resultant signals are applied to the input of an amplifier 2 having a user operated volume control. The amplifier output is applied to a receiver 1. Microcircuitry is preferably used and the bandpass filters, together with their respective variable attenuators, and the amplifier are of module form for ease of servicing or replacement. The microphone, the bandpass filters together with their variable attenuators, and the amplifier are in a common housing which also contains a battery space. The receiver may be in the housing or in a separate earpiece, and is connected by leads to the amplifier output.
